Fury after two men were filmed surfing through the Grand Canal in Venice

Just when you thought you had seen it all, two people have decided to go surfing through the famed Grand Canal in Venice.

The tourists were filmed riding the waves on Wednesday morning, seen dodging water taxis and zipping under the Rialto Bridge.

It’s believed the perpetrators were ridding eFoils, or electric surfboards that are raised slightly out of the water.

The move has angered locals, with the city’s mayor calling them “two overbearing idiots making a mockery of the city.”

He offered a free dinner to anyone who has information to help find the pair, and they were later identified.

The two surfboards, worth about 25,000 Euros each, have been confiscated.

Each surfer has also been fined for endangering the navigation of the canal, and were expelled from the city immediately.
