Former US President Donald Trump has announced that he is filing a lawsuit against Facebook, Twitter and Google over allegations of censorship.

The class-action lawsuit will also be directed at the individual CEOs of each company and follows the tech giants banning and suspending Trump’s accounts after the January 6 Capitol riots.

The lawsuit has been filed in the District Court of the Southern District of Florida, and Trump says it will be the first of many legal pursuits that aim to hold big tech accountable.

Supported by the America First Policy Institute, the nonprofit argues that the companies in question have “increasingly engaged in impermissible censorship resulting from threatened legislative action”.

Trump says he will never stop fighting for the American public and American liberties

When asked by reporters about his role in causing the January 6 Capitol riots, Trump says it was a very unfortunate event.
