TikTok has marked a significant milestone surpassing one billion active users
The social media giant which gained popularity during the course of the COVID pandemic surpassed the milestone this week.
TikTok announced in a blog post on Tuesday that 1 billion people use the social media platform every month.
The platform has risen in popularity during recent months as users compete against one another to make their video feature on the ‘For You Page’
Of the millions of videos uploaded to TikTok each and everyday include dance moves and groves, rant videos, news content and trending topics – each engaging with target audiences in different ways.
The achievement proves rapid growth of the ByteDance owned platform
TikTok’s growth is rapid — this new user data marks a 45% increase in monthly active users since July 2020, when it had 689 million users. Plus, this July, TikTok became the first non-Facebook app to reach 3 billion global downloads, per app analytics firm SensorTower.
To compare it against other major social giants – Facebook said that in June it had 2.9 billion monthly active users, up 7% year over year.
