The major tech giant behind advanced stats during NHL playoffs

As part of its relationship with Amazon Web Services, the NHL will debut two new areas of advanced analysis during the Stanley Cup playoffs. 

The metrics will include data on high shot-to-goal conversion rates from different spots on the ice and show how they change during power play situations. 

The new analytics will only be available via broadcasters during this year’s playoffs, but they will become publicly accessible on NHL.com in the future.
