Afghanistan’s Taliban government has ordered female television presenters to cover their face while on air

The Taliban have ordered female Afghan TV presenters and other women on screen to cover their faces while on air.

Media outlets were told of the new requirement on Wednesday – but many aren’t happy.

The ruling comes two weeks after all women were ordered to wear a face veil in public.

Those that don’t follow the Taliban’s new order risk punishment.

Restrictions are being tightened on women in Afghanistan.

Currently woman are banned from travelling without a male guardian.

Secondary schools are also shut for girls.

Western countries have long been worried about the rights for women…since the Taliban took over Afghanistan in August of last year.
