Starbucks is launching a series of NFT collections, which will give coffee-lovers a range of fresh perks

The coffee giant is set to acquire a range of new digital collectible, which grants access to a global community.

The company’s CEO recently met with investors, where he says ownership and “community-based membership models” are leading the way in the Web3 space.

The Web3 innovation is the next frontier for the World Wide Web. It brings token-based ideas and decentralisation to life.

“Emerging technologies associated with Web3, and specifically NFTs, now enable this aspiration and allow us to extend who Starbucks has always been at our core,” says the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, Brady Brewer.

The theme of Starbucks’ new collections will be artistic creations, with both heritage and newly created listings on offer.

The company has not selected a blockchain but it has assured investors the approach will be sustainable.

Starbucks has been under fire in recent months, as a union movement sweeps through its U.S. stores.
