Starbucks has fired a number of workers that have been leading efforts to organise a union in Tennessee
Starbucks fired seven workers who were involved in unionising in Memphis, Tennessee, fuelling accusations that the company is retaliating against a growing labor movement at its locations across the United States.
The coffee chain said the staff had knowingly violated company rules, including by using a store after-hours.
Buffalo, New York recently became home to the first unionised Starbucks-owned stores in the US since the 1980s and there’s a push to unionise even more.
