Ukraine says nine bodies have been found outside Kyiv, with some showing signs of torture

It is unclear what authorities are defining as “torture”. However, we know there were mass graves of civilians found in Bucha in recent weeks, with many global leaders condemning such actions as war crimes.

Meanwhile, Ukraine says four buses carrying evacuees have left he besieged city of Mariupol.

It comes as the nation’s military seeks to hold onto the strategic city, but armed forces are outnumbered and running out of supplies.

One marine commander in the region says they are determined not to surrender.

The Russian deadline for civilians to flee has now passed, with no indication Ukraine has complied.

US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken has given a damning assessment that the eventual retreat of Russian forces from the port city would reveal “far worse” atrocities.

It’s believed the last remaining individuals are sheltering in one of the city’s major steel plants.
