Russia has put a nuclear-capable missile to the test that Putin calls the best in world

Its released footage of a test launch of its intercontinental ballistic missile.

Putin says the launch of the long-range Sarmat rocket would make those who threaten his country think twice.

This new and long-awaited addition to its nuclear arsenal had been launched from Plesetsk in the country’s northwest.

The Sarmat has been under development for years and so its test-launch is not a surprise for the West.

The Pentagon described the test as “routine” and also confirmed the U-S had been informed before the test took place.

Russia’s nuclear forces will start taking delivery of the new missile “in the autumn of this year” once testing is complete.
