Russia claims Ukraine is planning to use ‘dirty bombs’ in its next move of the war

Russia claims Ukraine is planning to use ‘dirty bombs’ in its next move of the war.

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu made the allegations during a phone call with U.S. Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin.

‘Dirty bombs’ are weapons that combine explosives and Uranium.

Senior U.S. officials haven’t released any further information about the conversation but admitted it was Shoigu who initiated the call.

However, this is the second call between the top officials in just three days.

Some reports suggest Russia is concerned Ukrainians are planning to use ‘dirty bombs’ which are weapons combining explosives and Uranium.

“We reject reports of Minister Shoigu’s transparently false allegations that Ukraine is preparing to use a dirty bomb on its own territory…The world would see through any attempt to use this allegation as a pretext for escalation.”

National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson told CNN in a statement

This is an allegation strongly refused by Ukraine, the United States and the United Kingdom.

The west believes Russia may try and use this as a pretext to escalate the war.

Russian protests

It comes as Russian protestors fill the streets in Eastern Europe chanting “no to war.”

Hundreds of Russians piled into the streets of Georgia, to protest against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
