Rescue efforts are continuing in China after a building collapsed, leaving many trapped in the rubble

A ninth survivor has been rescued from a collapsed building in China four days later.

The commercial building in the centre of the nation collapsed on Friday sparking a huge rescue effort with hundreds of emergency responders.

State-media reports the woman was conscious and able to talk through a small hole before being rescued.

Rescue efforts continue

At least 14 people are still believed to be trapped in the rubble while no contact has been established with 39 others.

Authorities allege that surveyors falsified a safety audit of the building.

China’s President Xi Jinping is ordering an investigation into the cause of the collapse.
