Putin orders troops into Eastern Ukraine

A military convoy of more than 100 trucks with soldiers has been seen on its way towards the Ukrainian border according to eyewitnesses

Russia’s parliament has now given Putin’s approval to deploy troops overseas, this comes just hours after the EU’s policy chief said Russian troops have entered separatist regions of Ukraine.

Putin says it’s impossible to predict specific actions of the Russian military in Donbas and that it will depend on the situation on the ground.

We heard from Putin again in a short televised appearance, he claims that Ukrainian talk of nuclear ambitions was aimed at Russia and the message is clear.

He says an “armed-to-the-teeth Ukraine” is anti-Russia and unacceptable, Putin added the nation should renounce its ambition to join NATO.

Hungarian Defense Minister, Tibor Benko, announced on Tuesday that Hungary will deploy troops to its eastern border with Ukraine for both humanitarian tasks and border protection, in response to Ukraine’s escalating crisis with Russia.

“We must prepare for every eventuality in the region by the eastern border, including humanitarian tasks and border protection,” Benko told reporters, according to the Hungarian government press office.

We know that several countries have announced sanctions in response.

Ukraine President Zelensky said in his late-night televised address to the nation, he welcomes support from international allies.
