There’s no birthday celebration more royal than having your face imprinted on a coin

And Prince William’s upcoming 40th birthday will be celebrated just like that.

The soon-to-be 40 year old is being commemorated with a special 5 pound coin in the UK.

The design was shared on social media and features a three-quarter profile of the Duke of Cambridge looking towards the top right of the coin with the number 40 on one side and letter ‘W’ to the other.

This comes just under a month before William’s birthday on June 21 and marks the first coin the royal has appeared in on his own.

In a previous coin he appeared alongside his wife Kate Middleton commemorating their royal wedding.
