Pakistan’s ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan has been shot during a suspected assassination attempt

Pakistan’s ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan has been shot in the leg during a suspected assassination attempt.

A bullet hit Khan after a gunman opened fire at a rally.

At least one other person has died and several others injured.

The former Pakistan cricket captain has now been taken to a hospital in Lahore to receive treatment.

A spokesperson says Khan is currently out of danger and in a stable condition.

The suspect was detained at the rally by police.

It’s believed he was in possession of a 9 millimetre pistol and two empty magazines.

The one individual who died is reportedly a senior P-T-I politician and a close Khan ally, who was shot in the head during the attack.
