‘Not be silenced’: Olympians banned from wearing BLM in Tokyo

Athletes competing in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics will be banned from wearing Black Lives Matter apparel.

This is an extension to the International Olympics Committee decision to ban protests at the podium or in stadiums.

So athletes won’t be allowed to take a knee or wear anything that is associated with the movement.

The committee chief defended the decision … saying a recent poll made is very clear that majority of athletes don’t think political views should be on the field or at the podiumn anyway.

Several athletes have spoken out against the rulings, including U.S soccer player Megan Rapinoe who said athletes would ‘not be silenced’ at the games.
