At least nine people have been killed by two bomb blasts on a bus in Afghanistan

The blasts took place within minutes of each other in different districts of Mazar-i-Sharif as commuters made their way home to break their Ramadan fast

Local police say the targets were Shi’ite passengers. It’s believed 13 people were also wounded.

It comes a week after another deadly explosion, which struck a mosque in a city in the naton’s north.

The number of violent attacks across Afghanistan has fallen since the Taliban returned to power last August.

But some Islamic state groups have continued to target Shi’ite Muslims.

Police have repeatedly called out the violence, saying it’s “creating tension and division” among local residents.
