New bill to ban abortions in America after 15 weeks

Published

on

A national 15-week abortion ban has now been proposed by U.S. Republican Senator Lindsay Graham

The proposal, dubbed the “Protecting Pain-capable Unborn Children from Late-term Abortions Act” comes despite backlash towards the Supreme Court’s recent overturning of Roe v. Wade.

“America’s got to make some decisions,”

Lindsay Graham, U.S. Senator

New polling shows 57 per cent of Americans disapprove of this decision, with 62 per cent believing abortion should be legal in all or most cases.

Graham’s proposal comes just 60 days before the nation’s midterm elections.

The proposed Act has almost no chance of becoming law, even if the Republicans do win back control of the Senate and the House come November.

Meanwhile, the Democrats will likely use this to fire up their supporter base.

The proposed Act follows a number of Republican states see recent attempts at tightening abortion bans falter.

However, Graham is sticking by his agenda.
