Myanmar authorities are pushing to file charges against one of the country’s key protest leaders.

Wai Moe Naing was arrested last week when he was directing a motorbike rally through the central town of Monywa.

Naing has become one of the most influential figures in the movement against the military coup in recent times.

Myanmar’s pro-democracy party is calling for all political prisoners to be released before it will engage in talks about the crisis.
