Judge agrees to make public a more detailed inventory from the DOJ’s investigation
Federal Judge Aileen Cannon said on Thursday in court that she will unseal a more detailed list of materials seized at Mar-a-Lago.
Little has been made public regarding the Aug. 8 unprecedented break-in of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s private beach estate over record that the U.S. Department of Justice claim are ‘classified.’
However, Trump says he ‘declassified’ the documents.
Judge Cannon also said she will rule in due course on Trump’s request for a special master. also known as a third-party attorney to handle the review of evidence gathered from his Palm Beach home.
Meanwhile, the DOJ is fighting to prevent an independent third party to review the materials.
Attorneys for Trump have been arguing that the federal government’s handling of the investigation has damaged public confidence in the investigation’s integrity and transparency.
Trump and his team believe having a special master appointed to review documents would assist in clarifying issues brought up by the case in proper context.
