Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen is the 2021 Formula One Drivers’ champion.

Mercedes filed two protests with FIA stewards over the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 race restart after Max Verstappen passed Lewis Hamilton on the final lap of the race.

Mercedes lodged its intention to appeal the stewards’ dismissal of the original Mercedes’ protest.

Meanwhile, Red Bull continued to celebrate Verstappen’s maiden title.

At the time of the victory, Red Bull boss Christian Horner screamed “Max Verstappen, you are the world champion, the world champion!” over radio.

Horner added: “We needed a bit of luck and we got it.”
