New Zealand is set to fully re open its border by the end of July

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced that the international border will reopen to all tourists and visa holders two months earlier than planned.

This means The border will open to non visa-waiver nations like China and India.

There’s hopes the reopening of borders will be the help the labour market needs in its post pandemic recovery.

The PM believes this is also welcome news for families as well as businesses.

She says it will provide certainty and good preparation time for airlines and cruise ship to plan ahead before peak season towards the end of the year.

“We know a major constraint on business is access to skilled labour. This plan will increase the available pool of labour, while also speeding up our tourism recovery,” Adern announced.
