U.S President Biden mentions past cancer in a speech about the climate at a power plant in Massachusetts

A clip has gone viral of U.S President Joe Biden giving a speech at a former coal power plant in Somerset, Massachusetts.

In the speech, he referenced the emissions from the oil refineries in his childhood hometown of Delaware being the reason why he and other people grew up with and have cancer.

It’s left Twitter users in two minds, not sure whether it’s a legitimate claim, a stumble, or straight out lie.

Although the White House has released a health summary from Biden’s doctor that says Biden “has had several localized, non-melanoma skin cancers removed with Mohs surgery before he started his presidency.”
