Japan targets Russia’s Central Bank

The Japanese government announced last night that it would also be imposing international sanctions on Russia’s central bank by limiting transactions with it.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kashida had a phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky in the past 48 hours.

Mr Kishida also stated that Japan would impose sanctions on Belarusian organisations and individuals including President Alexander Lukashenko – and limit exports to Belarus given the country’s “involvement in the invasion” of Ukraine.

Many nations around the world are coming to the defence of Ukraine during this time – Imposing sanctions on the Kremlin in hope that Putin will pull back troops from neighbouring Ukraine.
