Israel will ban Boeing 747 and other similar four-engines aircraft amid environmental concerns

The change will take effect in March next year in a desperate bid to decrease noise and air pollution above the skies.

Airlines have reportedly been told about the changes, which will mainly impact cargo jets.

The national carrier, EL AL has already retired its 747 jets.

Competitors have also made similar moves, with many choosing to use the triple seven and 787 instead.
