The investigation into the doomed China Eastern airlines flight which crashed this week is ramping up after the second black box was located

Authorities in China are investigating the doomed crash of a China Eastern airlines Boeing 737-800.

A probe has now been launched after a second black-box recorder was retrieved from the crash site.

Reports claim that at least one piece of the aircraft appears to have broken loose well before impact. If correct, it could lead investigators closer to finding answers.

Chinese officials say the piece from the plane’s wing was found about 10 kilometres from the main wreckage area.

It’s suspected that the piece fell off mid-air, and if correct, it could have led the plane to lose balance and then the pilots to lose control.

133 people died when the plane crashed earlier this week.
