Police have killed a tiger that left nine people dead in eastern India

Dubbed the “man-eater” around 200 officers found the beast after a desperate search.

It’s believed the male tiger had been aggressive towards some communities in a nearby tiger reserve.

The Chief Wildlife Officer says the tiger had been dangerous to human lives.

Of course, India is home to 70 per cent of the world’s wild tigers.

Locals has reported sleepless nights over fears the tiger could kill more locals.

It follows several attempts to tranquillise the animal. But they were unsuccessful.
