Russia and Ukraine have carried out a surprise prisoner swap

Nearly 300 people were involved in the move, which is the largest since Russian forces entered Ukraine over six months ago.

It’s understood Saudi Arabia and Turkey helped out with the deal, which includes prisoners from the U.S. and Britain.

Some of these people had reportedly been sentenced to death after being captured in Ukraine.

In a video address, Ukraine’s President Zelensky says it’s a “victory” for his country.
