More than half of all adults in the UK have now received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, meaning they are fully vaccinated.
Prime Minister Borris Johnson welcomed the news, saying that it is an “amazing achievement” and it’s now time to “finish the job”.
UK health authorities have administered almost 26 million second doses of a Covid-19 vaccine since the rollout program began.
It follows Health Secretary Matt Hancock revealing that three-quarters of adults in Britain have received their first dose.
Coronavirus cases still continue to rise in the UK, with over 5,000 infections reported on Thursday, and sadly a further 18 deaths.
