Haiti PM investigated over President’s assassination

Haiti’s Prime Minister Ariel Henry has been prevented from leaving the nation, as investigations continue into the assassination of former President Jovenel Moïse

Prosecutors are seeking charges against Henry… as they try and determine the PM’s links with a key suspect in the murder.

It comes as records that were released show that the two men had multiple phone calls just hours after the former president’s death.

Jovenel Moïse was shot dead at his home on July 7 after gunmen stormed his private residence… with his death sparking a political crisis in the country.

It’s been a difficult few months for Haiti after the country also experienced a huge earthquake about a month ago.

Prosecutors confirmed that Henry spoke twice to the suspect after Moise’s killing… with the suspect calling from teh murder location before fleeing from authorities.

He remains on the run.

This all follows authorities ramping up their efforts to arrest additional suspects, with police confirming that 44 people are being held in custody in connection with the plot.
