Priests in 100 Catholic churches throughout Germany have blessed same-sex marriage

Priests across Germany have blessed same-sex marriage despite a Vatican ban.

Dubbed the “love wins movement,” the priests responsible say “the rainbow is a political sign”.

“God excludes no one from his love”, they said.

Going against the Vatican

This move goes against the Vatican, who says that God “cannot bless a sin”.

It also follows Pope Francis saying that he believes same-sex couples should be allowed to have civil unions, but these can’t be blessed by the Church.

The ‘Love Wins’ campaign say the Vatican’s decision to deny gay couples blessings is “a slap in the face for people around the world”.
