The countdown is on until Australia opens up to the world

Newly announced restriction changes will see residents able to fly freely to and from other countries without the need for an exemption.

The new regulations will only apply to fully vaccinated Australians from November 1, with the health minister approving the mandate last night.

Travellers will need to provide their vaccine passport upon departure and this announcement comes as 84% of the population has received two doses of COVID-19 jabs.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says his country is also “getting very close now to announcing the reciprocal arrangement with Singapore”.

This follows Singapore announcing on Tuesday night that it will begin a new travel bubble arrangement with 10 European nations and Australia.
