The Trump Administration blocked the CDC from making face masks mandatory on commercial flights

A new congressional reports has found Trump told officials the move would simply not happen.

It came at a time when CDC officials pointed to scientific evidence supporting the mask requirement on public transport.

They wanted masks to be worn at airports, and on planes as COVID cases soared.

When the current president Joe Biden took office in 2021, the CDC issued the orders that required face masks on nearly all forms of public transport.
