First Russian cargo ship leaves Mariupol since Russia conquered the city

The first cargo ship has left Mariupol since the city’s fall to Russia

Pro-Kremlin separatist leaders say the ship was carrying metal and is heading towards Russia.

It’s believed 2,500 hot-rolled sheets left the besieged city, heading for the town of Rostov.

Ukraine says the shipment amounts to looting.

It comes as Russia makes advances towards the east of the nation.

But U.S. President Joe Biden says the U.S. will not supply Ukraine with long-range rockets.

James Beardsworth from The Moscow Times who says Russia is changing its strategy.

“Now what we’re seeing is a shift in the war as Russia has focussed its troops in the East of Ukraine.”
