FAA orders Boeing to inspect older 737 jets

Published

on

All Boeing 737-300, 400 and 500 planes will need to be examined due to the failure that “could result in loss of control of the airplane,” according to the FAA

The Federal Aviation Administration has announced it was requiring U.S-based airlines that operate the Boeing 737 Classic Series to urgently inspect their jets.

The FAA is ordering carriers check for possible wire failures stemming from an investigation into an Indonesia crash in January.

The Boeing 737 Classic is an older generation of jets more than two decades old.

The FAA said the issue affected over 1,000 aircraft worldwide but many are currently out of service, because of COVID-19 or other issues.
