The Australian state of Queensland has gone dark after an explosion at a power station.
A major power outage in Australia’s north has left 300,000 homes without electricity and turned off over 10 traffic intersections, that caused chaos on the roads.
As a direct impact of the incident at Callide Power Station this afternoon AEMO has identified the potential for electricity demand to exceed supply in Queensland.

The incident happened at about 2:00pm local time and the cause of the incident is still unknown.
The state Minister for Energy told Queensland parliament, that there were no reported injuries at the power station.
While power has largely been restored, but Queenslanders have been asked to reduce their energy
Around 375,000 customers initially affected by the outage, according to an earlier statement by power company Energex.
