The President of the European Parliament has voiced her support for Ukraine as the US deploys further F-15 fighter jets

Roberta Metsola says the position of the EU House is clear and Europe will continue to provide resolve and unity.

Metsola is urging de-escalation, but says the Parliament is prepared for any eventuality and will respond with “forceful and concrete action” if necessary.

“The position of this House is clear,” Metsola proclaimed. “We are with Ukraine.

“Ukraine is a sovereign state that must be free to decide its future, for the benefit of its people.

“No one should undermine that right.”

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is continuing to confirm his nation’s intent on joining NATO.

The minister says: “it’s only up to Ukraine and 30 NATO allies to decide on the issue of membership.”

This follows US Secretary of State Antony Blinken meeting with the minister on Monday, stressing the US and its allies’ “commitment to the sovereignty of Ukraine”.

Blinken confirming “any further military aggression by Russia against Ukraine will be met with a swift, coordinated, and forceful response.”

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has also confirmed his nation’s commitment to Ukraine, saying the sovereignty of the nation is a ‘non-negotiable.”

The German leader is ready for serious dialogue with Russia.

Fears of a Russian false flag operation are mounting following comments made by the Russian Ambassador to the EU, but Boris Johnson says the ‘window for diplomacy’ remains open.
