Elon Musk had affair with wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin: WSJ

Published

Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s alleged affair with the wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin prompted the couple’s divorce earlier this year, according the Wall Street Journal.

The newspaper reports that Brin filed for divorce from his wife of nearly four years, Nicole Shanahan, in January.

That was just weeks after learning that she had a brief affair with Musk in December.

The report claims the liaison between Musk and Shanahan happened during an event in Miami – and shortly after Brin and his wife separated.

Brin, who’s worth $95 billion, filed for divorce in January, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

Shanahan is seeking $1 billion, far more than she is entitled under her prenuptial agreement.

The move came several weeks after he found out Musk and Shanahan had hooked up, people familiar with the matter told the Journal.

Musk has reportedly apologized to Brin and begged for forgiveness.

The Tesla CEO is the wealthiest person in the world with an estimated $240 billion fortune.
