Disturbing footage of tragic fatal shooting of respected Al Jazeera journalist

Published

on

Disturbing footage has emerged of the moments directly after Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was fatally shot in Israel’s West Bank

This story contains distressing images

The veteran Palestinian-American journalist was a household name throughout the Arab world.

Her primary responsibility has to cover the sufferings of Palestinians who have been living under Israeli rule.

In the footage, screams of “ambulance” can be heard, as one man tries to move Abu Akleh and others yell at him to move out of the sniper’s way.

The 51-year-old journalist was shot in the head as she was reporting on Israeli military raids in the city of Jenin.

Her field producer was also shot and remains in a stable condition.

Abu Akleh’s employer, Al Jazeera has since commented on the incident, describing her death as “blatant murder” by Israeli forces.

Eyewitnesses say the journalists were shot by Israeli troops and that there were no Palestinian militants anywhere near the journalists that would prompt such an attack.

Protestors have gathered on the streets to condemn the shooting.

Emotional footage shows the arrival of Abu Akleh’s body into Al Jazeera’s headquarters in Ramallah.

Israel’s military’s Chief of Staff says it’s not yet to determine which direction she was shot from, and has promised an investigation.

This follows previous comments from Prime Minister Naftali Bennett who claims “there is a significant possibility” she was shot by Palestinian crossfire.

Australia’s multimillion-dollar campaign to attract Hollywood productions to its shores appears to be paying off.

The allure of Australia lies not only in its picturesque locations but also in its competitive financial incentives.

The government offers generous rebates and tax breaks to international productions, making it an attractive proposition for filmmakers looking to maximise their budgets.

Despite the recent intake of Hollywood productions down under such as ‘The Fall Guy’ and ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’, Aussie independents are still finding the space to carve their own creative path.

Rob Fantozzi joined the program to discuss the latest in Hollywood, and showcased his own upcoming project – ‘Omerta‘. #featured

American home prices are rising at faster pace now than in the last 20-years.

A recent analysis reveals a jaw dropping surge in the cost of American homes.

Since the start of 2020, U.S. home prices have surged 47% easily outstripping the gains seen in recent decades.

On top of that, home price growth so far this decade is on the verge of surpassing all the growth seen in the 2000s.

Many experts believe this decade’s housing market frenzy was ignited by a perfect storm — the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic triggering an unprecedented rush among buyers.

Tom Hutchens, the Executive Vice President of Production at Angel Oak Mortgage Solutions joins Veronica Dudo to discuss.
