Die hard star retires from acting due to brain disorder aphasia

Willis is suffering from Aphasia, which is a language disorder that affects a person’s ability to communicate properly.

Taking to Instagram, the Die Hard star’s daughter says:

“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues… which is impacting his cognitive abilities.”

“As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him”.

The post continued, adding this has been a very difficult time for Willis and his entire family, thanking fans for their continued “love, compassion and support”.

Willis, 76, acting career began in the early 1980s. He is best known for playing John McClane in the Die Hard films, which made him a star.

Since then, the award winning actor has featured in films including The Sixth Sense, Armageddon and Pulp Fiction have grossed more than $5bn worldwide, according to Variety.
