Chilling new developments revealed about Buffalo mass shooting

Published

on

There’s chilling new details emerging about the Buffalo mass shooting incident today, with the U.S. Justice Department filing federal hate crimes against Payton Gendron

The white supremacist is accused of killing 10 Black people in Buffalo, New York last month.

The new charges outline a number of new horrifying details from the incident, including when Gendron turned to a white male victim who had been shot, before saying “sorry”.

The individual says his actions were driven by a desire to “prevent Black people from replacing white people.”

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland travelled to the shooting site on Wednesday, and says the Justice Department will be relentless in its efforts to combat hate crimes and support communities terrorised by them.

18-year-old Gendron could potentially face the death penalty if found guilty, and also faces the possibility of life in prison without parole on charges.

These charges include first- and second-degree murder and domestic terrorism motivated by hate, all of which he has pleaded not guilty to.

Gendron allegedly killed 10 people and wounded three when he stormed into a supermarket in a predominately Black neighbourhood before surrendering to police.
