At least 75 have been killed and dozens more injured following an India bridge collapse

INDIA BRIDGE COLLAPSE- At least 75 people have been killed, including children and dozens more are injured following a bridge collapse in India’s western Gujarat.

At the time of the collapse, approximately 400 people were on the bridge. Many fell directly into the water below.

Many women and children were walking on the bridge when it gave way at 6:30 pm local time.

Investigations are underway into the cause of the collapse.

India’s army, navy and air-force have all been called in to help with search and rescue efforts.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced compensation for those killed and impacted by the recent tragedy.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is at the bridge collapse site in Morbi.

The newly-renovated bridge is a central connection point in the town of Morbi, and collapsed just days after receiving a revamp.

Now, footage is emerging on social media showing people purposely swinging the bridge in the lead up to the collapse.
