The blaze, dubbed “The Caldor Fire” has already burned over 190-thousand acres… with authorities struggling to bring the flames under control.

Over 3,500 firefighters are currently battling the blaze, and over 700 properties have already been destroyed.

The city of South Lake Tahoe is a popular tourist destination throughout the warmer months, with many visitors also forced to evacuate.

The US Forrest Service says all Californian national forests have been shut until September because of the wildfires.

The Caldor Fire is one of seven blazes currently burning in the state, with the largest, called “Dixie”, burning more than 800,000 acres since mid-July.
