Malaysia’s King and Queen shine as TV news anchors

Published

on

Malaysia’s King and Queen captivated the nation when they made their television debut as news anchors on free-to-air channel TV3.

Within hours of their appearance, netizens showered praises upon the royal couple for their engaging and heartwarming performance.

The special royal bulletin segment, which graced the screens at 8pm, was pre-recorded earlier in the day during Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah and Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah’s visit to the Media Prima Group’s headquarters in Selangor.

During the 10-minute segment, the royal couple presented three news items, in a bid to show off their connection with people.

The first story featured interviews with Malaysians expressing their desire for unity.

The second segment highlighted how patin fish has significantly contributed to Pahang’s economy and tourism.

The third and final item provided insights into the King and Queen’s visit to Media Prima’s office, where they were given a corporate briefing by the management.

They also went live with the DJs at Hot FM, adding a touch of spontaneity to their royal visit.

‘Look familiar’

As the Queen narrated their experiences, she humorously remarked, “Their faces look familiar,” prompting agreement from the King as they shared a moment of laughter on screen.

Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah will be succeeded by Johor Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar on January 31, marking the end of an era and leaving behind a lasting impression as a beloved monarch who connected with his people in memorable ways, including his recent venture into the world of television news.

American home prices are rising at faster pace now than in the last 20-years.

A recent analysis reveals a jaw dropping surge in the cost of American homes.

Since the start of 2020, U.S. home prices have surged 47% easily outstripping the gains seen in recent decades.

On top of that, home price growth so far this decade is on the verge of surpassing all the growth seen in the 2000s.

Many experts believe this decade’s housing market frenzy was ignited by a perfect storm — the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic triggering an unprecedented rush among buyers.

Tom Hutchens, the Executive Vice President of Production at Angel Oak Mortgage Solutions joins Veronica Dudo to discuss.
