Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen in Instagram hack

A hacker has stolen NFTs worth millions after compromising an Instagram page

The hack took place on the ‘Bored Ape Yacht Club’ page, where it was used to post a phishing link.

It then transferred tokens out of users’ crypto wallets.

The page took to Twitter to warn users of the hack. But it came too late for some who had already clicked on the link.

NFT’s are quite decentralised but the contents of the hacker’s wallet were reportedly still viewable on other platforms.

It’s believed the wallet contained 134 NFTs, including four Bored Apes.

It’s not yet known how the hacker was able to compromise the Instagram account. Its creators were reportedly making contact with affected users when it initially occurred.
