The 9/11 Tribute Museum in Manhattan is shutting down, officials have confirmed

It will maintain an online presence, but financial difficulties mean the doors of the NYC location will close permanently.

Most of the collection will be moved to the New York State Museum in Albany.

The Tribute Museum has been facing hardships because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite a Change.org petition circulating, aimed at Mayor Eric Adams, it was not enough to save it.

This museum is not to be confused with the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, located at the site of the World Trade Centre.
